After moving headquarters, FreshRealm secures state funds for facility

The meal kit company has been optioned to receive a grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund for a new Lancaster facility.

A new facility for meal provider FreshRealm, Inc. is slated to receive further incentives from the state.

The company plans to create 112 jobs when its operation opens in Lancaster, in addition to committing to a capital investment of $10.5 million.

FreshRealm, which fulfills and produces meals for retailers such as Amazon Fresh, Blue Apron, Kroger and Walmart across the U.S., announced last month it moved its headquarters to Lancaster from San Clemente, Calif.

In May 2023, the Lancaster Economic Development Corp. passed a performance agreement with FreshRealm requiring the company to invest $5 million in business personal property and create 100 jobs within three years of completion, estimated for July 2025. Average annual wages are expected to be $65,000 a year.

For the first phase, FreshRealm plans to build out 88,000 square feet of the facility, the company previously told The Dallas Morning News. It eventually plans to occupy as much as 161,000 square feet.

The company first revealed its move to Lancaster last year when it announced it had acquired facilities in Linden, N.J., and Richmond, Calif., from meal kit company Blue Apron.
